Will the pleats make my stomach and hips look bigger?
No — that's the whole point of the smooth yoke. The top panel lies flat across your middle, and the pleats don't open up until below the hip. The volume falls away from your body instead of starting at your waist.
How long is it, really?
It runs 34.5 inches in size S up to 43 inches in XXL. On most women that lands mid-calf or lower, well past the knee. Check the size chart and measure from your natural waist down to be sure.
What if my waist and hips are different sizes on the chart?
Go by your waist. The elastic waistband has give, and the skirt flares out from the hip, so there's plenty of room through the bottom half.
Can I wear this to work and also on the weekend?
Yes. A tucked-in knit top and loafers reads office-ready. A simple tee and sneakers takes it casual. Same skirt, two completely different looks.

How do I start a return or exchange?
Email contact@hartwell-oaks.com with your order number and the items you’d like to return or exchange. We’ll send you a printable UPS return label — pack the items with their tags and drop the parcel at any UPS location.
Is return shipping free?
A return shipping fee applies to standard returns and is deducted from your refund. Returns are free if an item arrived damaged, faulty or incorrect — just send us a photo and we’ll take care of everything.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return arrives at our warehouse and has been checked, we issue the refund to your original payment method and confirm it by email. Depending on your bank, it can take a few additional business days to appear on your statement.

What if I’m between two sizes?
The Size Assistant tells you when you’re between sizes and which one gives a closer or roomier fit. For coats and jackets you’ll wear over knitwear, we usually recommend the larger size.

Always follow the care label. As a rule: wash gently in cold water or have it dry cleaned, dry knitwear flat, store it folded rather than on a hanger, and let wool rest a day between wears.
