Frequently asked questions
Does the drawstring have to be tied, or does the band hold on its own?
The elastic band holds on its own. The drawstring is there if you want a snugger fit at the waist or a little extra security when you're moving around.
Are these opaque enough to wear without anything underneath?
Yes. The ribbed knit is dense, not sheer, so it wears on its own the way regular trousers do.
Will the wide leg drag on the ground if I'm shorter?
The inseam falls long by design. If you're under 5'4", they may pool at the ankle — many women wear them with a slight cuff or a low heel, or have them hemmed an inch or two.
Do the ribs flatten out after a few washes?
No. The vertical rib is knit into the fabric rather than pressed in, and the spandex helps it spring back. Wash cold and hang dry to keep it at its best.

Email contact@hartwell-oaks.com with your order number and the items you’d like to return or exchange. We’ll send you a printable UPS return label — pack the items with their tags and drop the parcel at any UPS location.
Is return shipping free?
A return shipping fee applies to standard returns and is deducted from your refund. Returns are free if an item arrived damaged, faulty or incorrect — just send us a photo and we’ll take care of everything.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return arrives at our warehouse and has been checked, we issue the refund to your original payment method and confirm it by email. Depending on your bank, it can take a few additional business days to appear on your statement.

Always follow the care label. As a rule: wash gently in cold water or have it dry cleaned, dry knitwear flat, store it folded rather than on a hanger, and let wool rest a day between wears.
